The following are limitations which are not considered the responsibility of the manufacturer and will void the warranty:
1. Damage caused by installing a wood door without adequate overhang protection. The door unit must be protected with an overhang that projects outward at least 1/2 of its height. Example: If the height of overhang is 10 feet, projection of overhang must be a minimum of 5 feet.
2. Installing a wood door in prolonged direct sunlight, as typically found in south or southwest facing exposure. A wood door must not receive more than 4 hours of direct sunlight each day.
3. Damage caused by installation of any storm door or combo wood door, which causes excessive heat buildup that will damage the finish.
4. In areas where snow conditions exist, the door must be installed a minimum of 6 inches above any stoop or porch landing, so as to prevent snow buildup against the door.
5. Damage caused by failure to comply with the installation, finishing and maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer or by attempts to do any repairs to the door other than by an installer or representative authorized by the manufacturer.
6. Damage caused by using dark colored paint on exterior surfaces exposed to direct sunlight.
7. Damage, misuse or abuse caused by other parties, or by any causes beyond the control of the manufacturer. NOTE: All units must be inspected upon receipt to the store/customer, as damage claims are void after the product has been received and signed for as "Free of Damages".
8. Failure to properly finish all door/sidelite/transom surfaces and/or jamb materials immediately. This includes door units that will be stored in excess of 30 days prior to installation.
9. Failures or defects not covered include broken or shattered glass, normal wear and tear of components, improper storage, installation and maintenance, improper cleaning, moisture penetration resulting from improper caulking, scratches resulting from pets or normal wear and tear.
10. Warpage in any door wider than 42" or taller than 96".
Warpage shall not be considered a defect unless it exceeds 1/4" in the plane of a door up to 42" wide and up to 96" tall. This distance shall be determined by placing a straight edge on the suspected concave face of the door and measuring the point of maximum distance between the bottom of the straight edge and the face of the door, accounting for panels and glazing recess. Action on any claim of warpage may be deferred at the option of the manufacturer for a period not to exceed 12 months, since it is not uncommon for a temporary warp condition to occur as the door adjusts to local humidity and temperature conditions.
Natural variations in color or texture of any wood grain surface shall not be considered a defect.
The process used in making some decorative glass can cause natural, bubble-like areas to form in the glass. These are natural occurrences from the manufacturing process and shall not be considered a defect.
In the unlikely event of a door developing a defect, as defined above, the manufacturer will, at its option, repair the product or provide a replacement at no cost to the Original Purchaser.
NOTE: The manufacturer is not responsible for the finishing or refinishing of any door, nor the installation or reinstallation of any door.
The manufacturer's sole responsibility is as stated herein and it shall not be liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental damages, or for any amount in excess of the price paid for the doors involved.
Except as set forth above, the manufacturer makes no other warranty, expressed or implied, with respect to the product
